AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE?

For most patients, dental x-rays are included in an annual dental examination. They may be performed as part of a preventive dental treatment plan or if you are concerned about a specific problem. Even though digital dental x-rays emit less radiation compared to film dental x-rays, Sunshine Dental tries to minimize each patient's exposure. Although digital dental x-rays are generally safe for all patients, women who are breastfeeding or pregnant should tell Dr. Bhakta at the start of their exam so that extra precautions can be taken.

WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT FROM A DENTAL X-RAY?

Generally done at the beginning of your dental exam, digital dental x-rays take about 5 – 10 minutes to complete. This x-ray will show a panoramic scan of your upper and lower jaw, providing our dentists at Sunshine Dental a closer look at your teeth. Most patients will get a series of dental x-rays taken to show all areas. After they are done, they will be uploaded and can be viewed by you throughout your appointment. The dental imagining will uncover any issues so that you can go over any possible treatments needed.
